Repairing Damaged Houses , Since 2011, Syria has been going through one of the worst civil wars in our modern time. Indefinite and repeated shelling of civilian houses and infrastructure facilities has caused partial and complete destruction of houses, leaving families and children in dire need for reparation and maintenance assistance to overcome harsh living conditions, particularly during winter.
Project Objectives of Repairing Damaged Houses
- Repairing houses of the afflicted families and alleviating their suffering.
- Contribution to housing the afflicted families and their children in livable places that protect their dignity.
- Rehabilitation of damaged buildings and houses to shelter the IDPs from nearby areas.
- Alleviating the financial and psychological burden and providing restoration materials to the afflicted households
Expected Results of Repairing Damaged Houses
- Restoration and maintenance of 500 damaged houses, to benefit 2,500 individuals.
- Alleviating the burden of the afflicted families who were forced to share one house after their homes had been destroyed.
- Realizing psychological stability for the targeted families.
Project procedures of Repairing Damaged Houses
- Selecting areas where house reparation will take place.
- Undertaking a field survey to determine which houses will be repaired.
- Selecting 500 houses that need immediate and necessary restoration and maintenance. Restoration includes:
- Re-building damaged parts.
- Maintaining/replacing doors and windows.
- Undertaking necessary wall paint.
- Maintaining electrical networks of the selected houses.
- Maintaining water and sewage systems of the selected houses.
- Calling for price bids for all restoration and maintenance inputs.
- Purchasing the project inputs according to the available price offers.
- Starting restoration and maintenance processes of the pre-selected houses.
Project Budget of Repairing Damaged Houses
The total budget for this project is $409,395 (four hundred and nine thousand, three hundred and ninety five Dollars).
