Thousands of deported households bear the scourge of displacement, war, and hunger in camps northern Syria. Amid miserable livelihood conditions, they suffer to meet basic day-to-day necessities.
The recent flows of immigrants have further worsened the humanitarian situation as violence continues to escalate in origin villages and cities. With fewer employment opportunities and less humanitarian assistance, misery has been soaring among the displaced people.
This year Eid Al Adha came in the midset of an ongoing hardship that the Syrian population has been experiencing in displacement camps- shortage of housing opportunities, difficulty securing basic livelihood needs, and financial challenges that deprive them the Eid’s little pleasures that would please their children and spouses.
Despite continued food assistances that target their daily need to nutrients, many Syrian households enjoy beef only once a year. The skyrocketing increase in prices, on one side, and scarcity of goods, on the other, make Eid Al Adha spiritless unless we strive to bring fresh Qurbani meat to those who deserve and in most need of it.
To support our needing families and extend a hand that brings Qurbani meat to those who await for it, “Beyaz Eller Organization” has launched “Your Qurbani in the Prophet’s Sham” campaign to provide Qurbani meat to the poor deserving Syrian households.
Through this campaign, 2019-1440, we succeeded in slaughtering 2,883 animals, which provided 23,064 shares and were accordingly distributed to households in north Syria camps. This year, the number of beneficiaries reached 138,384 persons.
Beyaz Eller follows a number of pre-set procedures when implementing Qurbani projects up until the end of each campaign to ensure that Islamic laws apply to every step since the procurement of animals until the slaughtering and distribution of meat.
In early Zul-Hijja, the procurement department in Beyaz Eller begins the process of purchasing animals in areas which are targeted by project donors, bearing in mind, and abiding by, Islamic and medical conditions of Qurbani animals.
The slaughtering begins right after the Eid prayer and lasts until the sunset of the last day of Eid, which is the thirteenth of Zul-Hijja. Then, each Qurbani animal is distributed into shares, each weighing around 3 kilograms.
After slaughtering and packaging, our distribution department starts addressing targeted households in each area, as fresh meat is distributable only to eligible pre-selected recipients in each neighbourhood.
This how Beyaz Eller has implemented Qurbani projects every year since our first campaign in 2013.
Beyaz Eller undertakes the Qurbani project using individual donations or through the support of sponsoring charities and humanitarian organizations.
Our Qurbani project is an annual campaign that has started since the launching of Beyaz Eller Organization in 2013. Under the ‘Urgent Relief Programme’, the campaign addresses food needs of the afflicted Syrian population in festivals and emergencies. Between 2013 and 2019, the Programme has served around 4 million people.
Beyaz Eller Organization strives to provide more relief assistance to the Syrian population to meet the rising humanitarian needs in every sector and area that is accessible inside Syria or near the Turkish-Syrian borders.
