As violence escalates along with indiscriminate bombardment of residential areas and civil facilities, many people are being made destitute. In northern rural Homs, the UN reports warn that over 120,000 suffer increasingly acute shortage of basic food, while bread prices doubled 10 times higher. To alleviate part of their immeasurable suffering, Beyaz Eller, in coordination with Mercy International Association, distributed 662 food baskets on the afflicted families. The project benefited 3,310 individuals and came under Beyaz Eller Food Security and Livelihood Program that aims at alleviating Syria’s humanitarian crisis and enabling a sustainable livelihood for the afflicted families.
