The Syrian crises has forced over half of the pre-war population into displacement. In Aleppo and its countryside, tens of thousands of displaced families live in unsanitary camps that breed grounds for disease. Moreover, brutal heat waves and shortage in drinking water put thousands at risk of heat strokes. Doctors believe that abundant supply of cold drinking water in camps helps children, elderly, and patients of diabetes and blood pressure overcome heat waves. Therefore, Beyaz Eller has distributed blocks of iced water on 2000 displaced families in Aleppo and its countryside. The project served 20,000 displaced and came under Water and Sanitation Program that aims at alleviating humanitarian suffering, preserving human dignity and enabling sustainable livelihood.
