550 Food Baskets to Northern Rural Homs

550 Food Baskets to Northern Rural Homs

The scale of the humanitarian crisis lived in Syria is far worse than acknowledged by international organizations. As of December 2015, around 400,000 residents are trapped under siege- according to Siege Watch- almost half of them are in northern rural Homs. Imposed by the Syrian regime and its allies, civilians are deprived of vital commodities, while prices of scarcely available ones skyrocketed about tenfolds. To help afflicted families maintain livelihood during Ramadan, Beyaz Eller cooperated with Islamic Help to distribute 550 food baskets in northern rural Homs. The project benefited 2,750 individuals and followed Beyaz Eller Food Security and Livelihood Program.
